Short Movie Creator is a movie editing software application that enables you to easily create original movies with the effects and background music of your choice, using images and movies taken with a digital camera. Short Movie Creator analyses the registered source files and automatically edits the movie based on the settings that you apply. Movies created with Short Movie Creator are referred to as 'short movies'.

Modifications enabled with Ver. 1.4.0

• It has been confirmed that there are no problems with operation under OS X version 10.9.
• Support for the following features has been added.
  - Custom titles can now be added to short movies. The title can be specified in the Title tab of the Detail Settings window accessible from the Clip menu> Detail Settings ....
  - Movie credits, such as the names of the people who appeared in or those who helped with the movie, can now be added to short movies. Names can be added in the Credits tab of the Detail Settings window accessible from the Clip menu> Detail Settings....

• Unsupported Files
  - Movies created with Save to camera (memory card) selected in the Short Movie Creator Ver. 1.2.0 or earlier Create Movie dialogue box cannot be played back with the Nikon 1 V2, J3 or S1. To play back such movies on these cameras, they must be created using Short Movie Creator Ver. 1.3.0 or later.
  - MOV format movie files (MotionJPEG) recorded with COOLPIX series cameras are not supported.
  - Movies recorded at a setting of 1080/60i are handled as 1080/30p movies.
  - AVI-format movie files recorded with the COOLPIX L15, L16, L18, L19, L20, L21, L22, and S520 are not supported.
• File Playback
  - Sound in movies recorded using the D7000 running firmware Ver. 1.01 or earlier, or the D3100, does not play.
  - In order for a user to use sample music when logged in under a user account other than that used to install the software, the user must first log in to the account used to install the software and copy the sample music file to a shared location.
  - Playback of movie files created by Short Movie Creator for transfer to a camera (memory card) is not guaranteed on all third party applications.
  - When previewing projects created using full-HD data, playback may seem to stutter, or be slow, if the computer's level of performance does not support sufficiently fast preview display. Movies will be created normally.
  
• Saving files
  - Movies in an aspect ratio other than 4:3 or 16:9 will be converted to a 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio. Because movies captured by the Nikon 1 V1 during still image capture are in an aspect ratio of 3:2, the aspect ratio will not be preserved.
  
• Adding content
  - Up to 20 music files can be added. Up to a combined total of 50 still image and movie files can be added as source files.
  However, the maximum number of movie files is limited to 20.

Installation

You must have Administrator authority when installing this software. Exit Short Movie Creator, turn off all virus-checking software and all other applications that may be running before proceeding with this upgrade.

When installing the Mac version of Short Movie Creator if a previous version of this software is loaded in the CD drive, or the disk image from a previous version of this software is mounted on the computer, please eject the CD or the mounted disk image before installing this software.
